I have been reading and studying “The Law Of Success” by Napoleon Hill. It is an awesome book I would highly recommend it. I came across this creed in it. It was written for a very successful man in the US by his wife when they were first married. He signed it and placed over his desk. It is this that he attributes his success to. I have now taken on this creed. If you want to be a better employee, get a promotion or better job or if you just want to improve yourself to be the best you can be. I suggest that you consider adopting it as well.

Here is a copy.

I believe in myself. I believe in those who work with me. I believe in my employer. I believe in my friends. I believe in my family. I believe that god will lend me everything I need with which to succeed if I do my best to earn it through faithful and honest service. I believe in prayer and I will never close my eyes in sleep without praying for divine guidance to the end that I will be patient with other people and tolerant with those who do not believe as I do. I believe that success is the result of intelligent effort and does not depend upon luck or sharp practices or double crossing friends, fellow man or my employer. I believe I will get out of life exactly what I put into it, therefore I will be careful to conduct myself toward others as I would want them to act towards me. I will not slander those whom I do not like. I will not slight my work no matter what I may see others doing. I will render the best service of which I am capable because I have pledged myself to succeed in life and know that success is always the result of conscientious and efficient effort. Finally, I will forgive those who offend me because I realize that I shall sometimes offend others and I will need forgiveness

Signed_______________________

Print it off, sign it, memorise it, read it when you get up, read it when you go to bed and make sure you commit to it and you will succeed.

Have a wonderful week

Cheers Robbie

Like it or not the way you dress can affect a job promotion and can help if you want career change or better job.

There are many places where a code of dress is expected, such as church, the opera, the theatre, better restaurants and many other places. The workplace is just one of many and whether you like it or not, appropriate dress is what can help you keep or get a job. Many Internet sites, books and people that offer advice on interviews and getting that job, will emphasize the importance of nice appropriate dress and the impact it can have when you wear something that stands out from the crowd.

Clothes do make the person. This is one of the old sayings that really does come true. What does it mean? It means that people judge you by the clothes you wear. This is especially true in the workplace, but it is also true for everyday life.

Nowadays many companies have a dress policy in place to keep the appearances at work up. Reasons why companies have dress policies are varied.

Here are couple.

One of the biggest reasons for companies to require nice appropriate dress their office, or at least in the area that the customer will see, it is important that their employees make a good first impression. First impressions are very much guided by what you are wearing, your facial impressions and body posture. If your customer see you working at your desks, it is important that you are dressed appropriately. For most workplaces this means a dress shirt and smart dress pants or polo shirt and casual dress pants. In some instances wearing a suit and tie. It will depend on the company. For women the equivalent style of the clothing will be expected.

Imagine what would happen if a customer came into your company and you wore dirty, spotty, old and ripped clothes. That doesn’t make a good impression, does it? Do you think the customer will want to do business with you? Or if they do will they come back again. Not likely.

Another reason companies and employers would judge your appearance is professionalism. Professionalism in the workplace includes good appropriate dress, being a good employee, doing your job right and being polite and respectful to your boss and colleagues in your workplace.

This doesn’t just apply to those who work in offices. This also to tradesmen, technicians, and shop assistant as well. If you have a clean tidy appearance goes along way.

So before you walk out the door in the morning, check yourself in the mirror and ask “Would I like to do business with a person dressed like that?”

Be the person you would like to deal with.

Have a marvellous day

Have you thought about changing careers or your job change? Are you stuck in a dead end job that you are not enjoying and that isn’t getting you taking you towards your goals? Did you wake up one morning to find yourself wondering why you are in the career/job never wanted and one that is making you unhappy? Many people feel this way. I have been there myself. The good news is that it is never too late to make a fresh start. No matter what your age is or what stage in your career you are at, you can always reinvent yourself to get closer to your dream job. All you have to do is take action and make the jump. This is the hardest bit, but once you have done it the rest gets easier.

The first step in making a career change is deciding exactly what you want to do. But consider it carefully because you don’t want to find yourself in the same situation in a couple of years. Think about the things that you wanted to do when you were a child or when first entered the working world. What was your dream job then? What career field was your passion? Is it still what you want to be doing today? Could you turn one of your hobbies or interests into a career? Discover your dream, and then start building your goals around it. If you can manage to build a career around your passion work will all way be enjoyable.

Once you know what you want to do, the time comes to start researching it. How do most people get started in that field? Will you need to start your own business, or are there companies out there already doing what you want to do? What kinds of entry-level positions are available? Will you be able to do this in your town, or would moving to another city mean more opportunities for you? Before you make the change, research your job options carefully. You may need to plan financially for the step you are about to take, so make sure you are thorough doing your homework. Talking to people who are already working in the field/career you want to enter can be great way to get actionable advice because they have been there.

When you know what kind of experience you will need to get started in the field of your dreams, think about the experience you have had in the past, and what you have done that matches up. This can mean either work related experience or things you have done as a hobby or class you have taken in school. Be creative here – you may have experience you don’t even realize you have. For instance, if you want to open a bakery, and you are always in charge of the bake sale at your child’s school, these count as experience. There may even be thing you do in your current job that will cross over. Comb through your history and pick out all of the things you have done that will count in your new career.

Last but not least, you have to start creating a new image to present to the working world. Start over with a brand new resume, this time highlighting the experience you have that is relevant to your new career goals. Work on an outstanding cover letter that explains your passion and why you want this career change. If you are starting your own business, work on building a website and creating a brand you can be proud of. The sooner you start living your new career, the sooner your dream job will fall into place.

So don’t wait, take action NOW! Your dream job or new career is waiting for you.

Have a wonderful week

Learn how to improve yourself to land a better job or a promotion. By changing your attitude, the way you dress, your punctuality, learning new skills and deciding what you want.

Having a decent job can greatly improve the quality of your life. You probably spend good proportion of your day at work. With that in mind, you do not want to be miserable when you are at work. If you want a better job, improve yourself to be more attractive to employers or get the promotion you want. This task may be easier than you think. Start making some simple changes and watch the job offers begin to appear.

The number one way to reinvent yourself in order to land a better job or get a promotion is to change your attitude. Even if you are working at a nightmare of a job at present, you need work on being positive. Negativity can be seen a mile away. You may not realize it but your face expression, posture and quality of work show off how you feel about your job. This attitude has to go so decide to change it NOW.

Some simple ways to change the way you feel about your current job are

· Being on time or even a bit early (never late)

· The way you dress. Take pride in your appearance and the way you dress whether you have a uniform or a dress code. Made sure you are clean and tidy

· Put a smile on your face. Even if you are on the phone your smile will be noticed.

· Keep a positive attitude. In every situation ask yourself “what is good about this situation?”.

Make these changes and you will be surprised. Your work environment will improve and people will start to notice you.

Take some classes. Improving skills is always a good idea, whether you have qualifications or not. It doesn’t matter how busy you are, you can find time for a class or two. Use the Internet and take online classes if time is a major issue. Work at your own pace and pick up new skills. Improving yourself will make more attractive to employers.

Move away. If there are no jobs, where you live, in your field. Move to a place where your qualifications are more marketable. Find an area where the job market is fertile. When the economy goes south, certain job types are completely eliminated. If you are eager to find a better job you may have to go somewhere else to do it.

Apply for higher positions in the company that you currently work for at the moment. Even if you are not really that thrilled about the current company you work for, while you are there you should make the best of it. Get as much experience as you can so that you will have a nice extensive work history to refer to when you are looking for a new job.

Decide what type of job you want before you start looking. Narrow down the search and target the positions that fall in line with the jobs you would most like. If you keep saying that you want a better job but have no idea what the better job is, you are not going to find it. Have a job in mind before you start looking.

Join networking sites. They can be used for networking for jobs among other things. Be sure that you are professional when you put up your page. Let employers know that you are serious about finding a job. Do not post pictures of yourself at parties or in questionable situations.

So decide what you want, make the changes, and go for it. And you will get what you want

Have a fabulous day

Have you thought about a career change? Are you stuck in a dead end job that you don’t like and that isn’t getting you any closer to your goals? Did you wake up one morning to find yourself knee deep in a career you never wanted and one that is not making you happy? Or did you wonder when you woke up this morning why do I have to go to that place again. Many people feel this way – it can be easy to “fall into” a career that you think is temporary and then get so caught up in the day to day aspects of the job that never quite get out of it. If you find yourself in this kind of rut, the good news is that it is never too late to make a fresh start. No matter what your age is or what stage in your career you are at, you can always reinvent yourself to get closer to that perfect job. All you have to do is work up the courage to make the jump. This is the hardest bit, but once you have done it the rest gets easier.

The first step in giving yourself a career makeover or career change is identifying exactly what you want to do. While it may be true that there is always time to reinvent yourself and start over, if you have to go through the process too many times, you are only wasting valuable time that could have been spent doing what you love. Don’t fall into yet another career change and then find it isn’t all that is it cracked up to be. Think about the things that you wanted to do when you first entered the working world. What was your dream job then? What career field was your passion? Is it still what you want to be doing today? Could you turn one of your hobbies into a career? Discover your dream, and then start building your goals around it.

Before you make the leap, research your job options carefully. You may need to plan financially for the step you are about to take, so do your homework up front. Talking to other people in the field you want to enter is a great way to get actionable advice from people who have been there.

When you know what kind of experience you will need to get started in the field of your dreams, think about the experience you have had in the past, and what you have done that matches up. This can mean either work related experience or things you have done as a hobby or class you have taken in school. Be creative here – you may have experience you don’t even realize you have. For instance, if you want to open a bakery, and you are always in charge of the bake sale at your child’s school. Or you may have been involved in a club committee or community group. These count as experience. Comb through your history and pick out all of the things you have done that will give you a leg up in your new career.

Last but not least, you have start creating a new image to present to the working world. Start over with a brand new resume, this time highlighting the experience you have that is relevant to your new career goals. Work on a great cover letter that explains your passion and why you want a career change. If you are starting your own business, work on building a website and creating a brand you can be proud of. The sooner you start living your new career, the sooner your dream job will fall into place.

——————————————————————————-
